The USGS cordially invites you to the closing ceremony of the Optical Science Laboratory.
The event will be held at 1:00 on Thursday March 16, 2017 in the auditorium (room 1C111) at U.S. Geological Survey Headquarters at 12201 Sunrise Valley Drive in Reston, Virginia.
This event will mark the closing of the Lab’s Analog Camera Calibration Operation which has been operating for well over 44 years in support of the aerial imagery industry. During its operation the lab has calibrated 3705 cameras and supported 200+ aerial companies to meet the performance and accuracy standards required of many U.S. Federal agencies, as well as State and local governments for mapping projects.
Refreshments and an open house of the Camera Calibration Lab will follow a short presentation recognizing the good work the labs employees have accomplished over the years.
